2.  Today we will be going over Apuntes: #1 More Irregular “yo” verbs.

Copy down the following notes.

** The following verbs have irregular “yo” forms similar to tener-tengo, hacer-hago, estar-estoy in the present tense.

**These have to be memorized

Decir-to say, dar-to give, poner-to put / to set, salir-to leave / to go out

Traer-to bring, venir de- to come from, venir a- to come to

Decir- to say, to tell

Has an irregular “yo” form.  It also has an ( e→ i) stem change like pedir and servir.  Decir is also a boot verb.

*Yo digo         nos. decimos

Tú dices       vos. decís

Ella dice       ellos dicen

Juan dice <<hola>>.  Juan says “hello”.

Venir- to come from (de), to come to (a)

Also has an irregular “yo” and and a stem-change similar to the verb tener

It is also a boot verb.

*Yo vengo    nosotros venimos

Tú vienes    vosotros venís

ella viene       ellos vienen

Yo vengo a la fiesta con mis amigos.  I come to the party with my friends.

Other verbs that have only an irregular “yo” but the rest of the forms are regular.

Notice: again we are using the -ar, -er and -ir verb endings.

Dar-  *yo doy, tú das, ella da...etc.

To give   Yo doy el libro a mi amigo. I give the book to my friend.

poner- *yo pongo, tú pones, ella pone...etc.

To put   Marta pone el plato en la mesa.  Marta puts the plate on the table.

salir - *yo salgo, tú sales, ella sale...etc.

To leave/to go out.  Yo salgo con mi hermano.  I leave with my brother.

Traer- *yo traigo, tú traes, ella trae….etc.

Los chicos traen la tarea a la clase.  

The boys and girls bring the homework to class.
